Purpose of Activity

Clarify how sustainable infrastructure should be in a society with a declining population without sacrificing well-being. In the mid- to long-term, we aim to develop institutions and reform industry structures to realize sustainable infrastructure.
In the short term (within one year), the goal is to clarify the scope of the study, involve experts, and make the first set of recommendations.

Activities

• Define the scope of the infrastructure to be considered
• Involve experts in each infrastructure area and experts on the state of social infrastructure
• Investigate the current status of various infrastructures (e.g., some infrastructures will see a decrease in demand due to population decline, while others, such as electricity and telecommunications, will continue to see an increase in demand)
• Review and summarize the first round of recommendations
