Beyond 5G White Paper

The White Paper Subcommittee under the Planning and Strategy Committee of the Beyond 5G Promotion Consortium, which was active until March 2024, conducted a study of Beyond 5G, which is expected to be put into practical use around 2030, assuming a wide range of usage scenarios covering users' daily lives and many industries, Through these studies, we examined the requirements for communication systems as social infrastructures from various perspectives. Based on the usage scenarios and future technology trends, we examined the key concepts, network requirements, capabilities, architecture, and key technologies of Beyond 5G. Based on these studies, this white paper summarizes issues and expectations for Beyond 5G from various industries, capabilities required for Beyond 5G, and technology trends.
The Beyond 5G Promotion Consortium was merged with the 5G Mobile Promotion Forum on April 1, 2024 to form the new XG Mobile Promotion Forum (XGMF), which released its 4.0 version of the white paper in December 2024.
This white paper and its annexes will continue to be updated to reflect XGMF's activities in 6G-related projects.

NTN related materials

NTN Promotion Project aims to expand coverage of non-terrestrial networks to a variety of potential users, and is working to expand the use of NTN technologies, including HAPS and satellites.
Last year's activities included creating a technology roadmap that shows NTN's trends at a glance; We have summarized various use case scenarios and required technical requirements.
We have updated the activity materials from last year and will make them available to the public. We hope that you will make use of this material.

XGMF White Paper “5G Enhancement with Millimeter Wave Deployment”

XGMF has published a white paper on 5G millimeter wave (XGMF White Paperー5G Enhancement with Millimeter Wave Deploymentー), outlining its global and domestic developments, technical features, challenges, and use cases.
Developed under the ODAIBA IX Core Project, this document aims to support industrial adoption and future spectrum policy.
We invite you to download and make use of this white paper.

Local 5G License Application Support Manual

The December 2019 system revision of laws and regulations related to the Radio Law will enable the use of local 5G in a portion of the 28 GHz band (28.2-28.3 GHz), and in addition, the system was revised in December 2020 to extend the band (4.6-4.9 GHz and 28.3-29.1 GHz). This manual is prepared as a guide to assist those who wish to establish a local 5G system by supporting specific procedures when applying for a radio station license.

5GMF White Paper "Security in 5G Use Cases" 【5GMF】

This white paper is a summary of the discussions conducted by the 5th Generation Mobile Promotion Forum Security Research and Study Committee. The committee extracted security issues for 5G use cases ((1) IoT, (2) Connected Vehicle, and (3) Fintech) based on 5G security standardization trends, mainly from the opinions of participating committee members.
The 5GMF White Paper "Security in 5G Use Cases Version 1.0" was released in July 2020, and the results of research activities in each study area (standardization, IoT, Connected Vehicle, Fintech) were subsequently reflected in Version 1.1.
