The 6G Promotion Project of the XG Mobile Promotion Forum has released the "6G Position Paper 1.0" to deepen common understanding among industry, academia, and government, and to disseminate Japan's 6G concept widely both domestically and internationally, based on the direction of Japan's future development and expected social issues. The "6G Position Paper Version 1.0" has been released to the public. We hope that the paper will contribute to fostering common understanding and promoting concrete actions toward the realization of 6G in the future.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will establish the Japan Pavilion at MWC Barcelona 2026, one of the world's largest mobile technology exhibitions, to be held in Spain from March 2 (Monday) to March 5 (Thursday), 2026, and will support exhibitors at the Japan Pavilion. The Japan Pavilion will be open to a wide range of exhibitors, mainly Japanese startups and SMEs that aim to expand their technologies and services overseas and develop new businesses in ICT fields that match the MWC theme, such as 5G, Beyond 5G/6G, AI, and immersive technologies.

The XG Mobile Promotion Forum (XGMF) has signed an MoU with 6G-IA, an association representing industry and research institutes in the field of next-generation networks and services in Europe, with the aim of deepening collaboration between Europe and Japan regarding efforts toward Beyonad 5G/6G. In conjunction with the MoU signing, a workshop for 6G collaboration was held.
This showcase was held at the Expo Messe "WASSE" in the Expo site, and was a limited nine-day event from May 26 to June 3. More than 40,000 visitors attended during that period, demonstrating the high level of interest of visitors in future telecommunications. The venue was divided into three zones with contents that were easy to understand and enjoy.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has invited Japan to the 49th session of SG5 WP5D, a working group of the International Telecommunication Union, Radio Communication Division (ITU-R), which is in charge of international standardization and frequency studies for next-generation mobile communication systems. The meeting will be held from Tuesday, June 24, 2025 to Thursday, July 3, 2025 in Kobe City, Japan.
