Project No. XGMF-PJ2502
[ Purpose ]
The current telecommunications business has developed through the horizontal division of labor, and is composed of a very complex supply chain with multiple additional layers between the materials/materials layer (upstream) and the telecommunications carriers and base stations layer (downstream). This structure produces a very strong driving force when the direction to be pursued is fixed, but the issues for the realization of next-generation communications in the future are becoming increasingly complex, and since there is a limit to the horizontal division of labor development for each layer in solving the fundamental issues, it has become necessary to discuss solutions to the fundamental issues across the supply chain Therefore, it has become necessary to discuss the solution of fundamental issues across the supply chain. On the other hand, due to the longstanding horizontal division of labor, upstream and downstream layers have little direct relationship and different specialties, making it very difficult to discuss common issues together.
This PJ, therefore, consists mainly of upstream layers (materials/manufacturing) who support the telecommunications area, and by collaborating with other PJs in the XGMF, where many downstream layers are gathered, will identify issues throughout the supply chain and translate those issues into materials/materials, in order to build a new value-creating ecosystem for next-generation communications based on Japan's strength in materials/monozukuri. The goal is to build a new value-creating ecosystem for next-generation telecommunications based on Japan's strength in materials and monozukuri (manufacturing).
