Project No. XGMF-PJ2418

XG-Supply Chain Management Project

Purpose of Activity

The convenience store business, a representative form of retailing in Japan, boasts an unparalleled scale of operations compared to the rest of the world and an operational precision that enables it to continue meeting the needs of customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, there is room for further evolution in the digitalization of this industry, and we will work with companies at the forefront of their respective fields and industries to visualize and quantify the potential for digitalization through specific observations and surveys, with an eye toward the 6G era. We will work on the further evolution of the distribution and retail industry.
With an eye on the coming 6G, let's create innovations originating in Japan, starting with distribution x next-generation communications!

Activities

This year, we will work with companies in the distribution and retail industry to identify specific seeds of technological innovation, improve efficiency through communication standards and rules, and examine room for advancement through "on-site" observation and visits.
We strongly hope that those who participate in this project will be exposed to the knowledge and current status of the distribution field, which is usually difficult to access even within the industry, and become core members who will work together to create and standardize a field that has been a competitive area up to now. We strongly hope that you will join us as core members to work hard together toward co-creation and standardization of a previously competitive field!
