In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for factory digitalization, such as labor saving and automation using robots and AI, in order to realize high-mix low-volume production and address labor shortages, and a wireless network that can stably and flexibly connect the workplace and IT is required to achieve this.
Local 5G, which can occupy and use frequencies, is one of the leading technology candidates to realize a wireless environment in factories. However, due to cost, licensing, and other reasons, it is not as easy to test as other wireless technologies.
This project aims to contribute to the diffusion of local 5G in the manufacturing industry and the creation of an industrial ecosystem through the construction of a testbed and interoperability verification and use case demonstrations utilizing the testbed. We look forward to the participation of user companies, partner companies, and others interested in this activity who have use cases or SLs that wish to utilize local 5G.
