The NTN Promotion Project is working on Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) to expand the use and deployment of NTN technology, including HAPS and satellites, to various potential users as a coverage extension. XG Mobile Promotion Forum (English name: XG Mobile Promotion Forum, abbreviated as XGMF) held its inaugural meeting online on Friday, June 7, with 258 participants. In consideration of centralization of human resources and unification of international contact points, 5G Mobile Promotion Forum (5GMF) and Beyond 5G Promotion Consortium (B5GPC) will be merged to establish a new "XG Mobile Promotion Forum" on April 1, 2024. The forum has been discussing the organizational structure, rules and regulations, and other issues. The inaugural meeting was chaired by Mr. Nishioka, Director of ARIB. After the opening of the meeting, Mr. Takuro Kawakawa, Director-General of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, gave a speech as the guest of honor. Mr. Takuro Nishioka, Director General of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), gave a speech at the opening of the meeting, in which he expressed his hope that the XGMF would have a promotion system that could translate enthusiasm into tangible results.
The Wireless Technology Park (WTP) 2024 was held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from Wednesday, May 29 to Friday, May 31. During the event, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and the XG Mobile Promotion Forum (XGMF), for which the Radio Industries Association of Japan (RIAJ) serves as the secretariat, co-hosted an international workshop and exhibition to promote millimeter wave deployment, organized by the XGMF Millimeter Wave Deployment Promotion Ad Hoc (millimeter wave AH)....
