The NTN Promotion Project is working on Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) to expand the use and deployment of NTN technology, including HAPS and satellites, to various potential users as a coverage extension. XG Mobile Promotion Forum (English name: XG Mobile Promotion Forum, abbreviated as XGMF) held its inaugural meeting online on Friday, June 7, with 258 participants. In consideration of centralization of human resources and unification of international contact points, 5G Mobile Promotion Forum (5GMF) and Beyond 5G Promotion Consortium (B5GPC) will be merged to establish a new "XG Mobile Promotion Forum" on April 1, 2024. The forum has been discussing the organizational structure, rules and regulations, and other issues. The inaugural meeting was chaired by Mr. Nishioka, Director of ARIB. After the opening of the meeting, Mr. Takuro Kawakawa, Director-General of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, gave a speech as the guest of honor.
