XG Mobile Promotion Forum (English name: XG Mobile Promotion Forum, abbreviated as XGMF) held its inaugural meeting online on Friday, June 7, with 258 participants. In consideration of centralization of human resources and unification of international contact points, 5G Mobile Promotion Forum (5GMF) and Beyond 5G Promotion Consortium (B5GPC) will be merged to establish a new "XG Mobile Promotion Forum" on April 1, 2024. The forum has been discussing the organizational structure, rules and regulations, and other issues. The inaugural meeting was chaired by Mr. Nishioka, Director of ARIB. After the opening of the meeting, Mr. Takuro Kawakawa, Director-General of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, gave a speech as the guest of honor. Mr. Takuro Nishioka, Director General of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), gave a speech at the opening of the meeting, in which he expressed his hope that the XGMF would have a promotion system that could translate enthusiasm into tangible results.

The 5th Generation Mobile Forum has released the 5GMF White Paper "Advancement of 5G by Millimeter Wave Deployment" prepared by the Ad Hoc for Promoting Millimeter Wave Deployment of the Planning Committee. This white paper, one of the main activities of the Ad Hoc Committee for Promoting Millimeter Wave Deployment, comprehensively describes information necessary for the deployment of millimeter wave in Japan and abroad, issues, technologies, use cases, solutions, and so on. We hope that this white paper will be utilized as an aid in promoting millimeter wave deployment and building an ecosystem in Japan and abroad....
This white paper is a summary of the discussions conducted by the 5th Generation Mobile Promotion Forum Security Research and Study Committee. The committee extracted security issues for 5G use cases ((1) IoT, (2) Connected Vehicle, and (3) Fintech) based on 5G security standardization trends, mainly from the opinions of participating committee members.
