2. Outline of the event

●Day 1 (Day 1) Wednesday, October 15, 2025 "5G/Local 5G Evolution and Outlook"

(1) 10:00-12:45 Session 1: Lecture "Domestic and International Status and Prospects of 5G"
Mr. Hironobu Yumoto, Director General of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), gave an opening address on behalf of the co-organizers, followed by a lecture on the MIC's initiatives.

Next, four domestic carriers gave presentations on the status of 5G deployment and future prospects.

Next, two speakers spoke on the policies of domestic vendors, including those overseas.

Next, Mr. Yuji Kamimai of Sharing Design Corporation gave a presentation titled "Where We Are Now and Where We Are Going: Domestic and International Trends and Japanese Models of Infrastructure Sharing.

(2) 13:30-15:15 Session 2 Lecture "Driving Industry DX with 5G/Local 5G
At the beginning of the session, Mr. Takehiro Nakamura, XGMF ODAIBA IX Core Project Leader, explained that this session would introduce the real deployment cases and latest trends in the field by many 5G/local 5G users. Then, 13 speakers gave lectures on the spread and expansion of 5G/local 5G and their case studies.

(3) 15:30-17:00 Session 3: Lecture "Further Development of 5G with Millimeter Waves"
At the beginning of the session, Mr. Masakazu Shirota of Qualcomm Japan G.K. explained that this session would show how 5G can be further developed by taking advantage of the high performance of millimeter waves and explore the path to expanding its use.
Next, he gave a presentation on XGMF's millimeter-wave efforts in the form of two project activities.

This was followed by five speakers on the latest status of millimeter wave.

Mr. Hideo Fuseida, Director General of the International Strategy Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, opened the session with a lecture on the latest developments in Beyond 5G.

Next, five speakers gave presentations on the status of 6G initiatives by overseas MoU signatory organizations.

Following this, a panel discussion was held with Takehiro Nakamura as moderator and Akihiro Nakao as panelist, along with speakers from MoU-concluded organizations, on the trends and forecasts in each country and region, and the role and expectations of Japan as international R&D and standardization of Beyond 5G (6G) moves toward full-scale implementation.

(5) 13:30-15:15 Session 5: Lecture + Panel Discussion "6G and AI
In this session, six speakers discussed the latest trends in the use of AI in the design and optimization of 6G, autonomous control of networks, and the advancement of services.

After his speech, Akihiro Nakao moderated a panel discussion among the five speakers on "Business Potential of [Telecommunications x AI]," covering technology, business, practical application technology, strategy and collaboration between domestic carriers and AI semiconductor vendors.

(6) 15:30-17:00 Session 6: Lecture + Panel Discussion "6G Strategy
At the beginning of the session, Mr. Nakamura of NTT DOCOMO, the moderator, introduced that this session would include presentations and discussions on various trends, initiatives, and strategies related to 6G standardization and development.

Next, eight people gave an overview of 6G-related initiatives at XGMF.

Next, Mr. Kazuo Hagimoto and Ms. Eri Otsuka of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) gave a presentation on the progress of the Beyond5G Fund of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

After the speeches, moderator Takehiro Nakamura led a panel discussion on the 6G strategy with six speakers from industry, academia, and government, including Mr. Tokuda from the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and Mr. Matsui from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

In closing, Mr. Seiji Nishioka, Secretary General of XGMF, expressed his gratitude to all parties involved and his hope that this event would provide the XGMF with many insights for the future development of 5G and 6G technologies, and his request for continued support and cooperation for future international collaboration.
