Although 5G is characterized by ultra-high speed, high capacity, ultra-low latency, and multiple simultaneous connections, transitional methods such as NSA (Non-Stand Alone) were the norm in the early stages of deployment and did not fully demonstrate performance. Today, SA (Stand-Alone) deployment is progressing and there are signs of development in the use of millimeter waves. Millimeter wave utilization is entering the implementation phase in Japan. This session will introduce XGMF's efforts to promote millimeter wave deployment and clarify how 5G can be further developed with the high performance of millimeter wave. In addition, the latest domestic cases will be introduced across the board, including area formation by DAS, repeaters, reflection/metasurfaces, etc., actual operation in local 5G, and utilization of terminals and applications, and practical issues such as stability, cost effectiveness, and venue constraints will also be discussed.
