5G TECHRITORY 2024 was held in Riga, Latvia on October 29-30, 2024, and Mr. Shigeharu Ozaki from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation participated from XG Mobile Promotion Forum (XGMF).
5G TECHRITORY is an international conference that has been held annually since 2018 to promote the 5G ecosystem in Europe, and is backed by the Latvian government, which has been making efforts to introduce ICT technology.
From Japan, XGMF's Vertical-related projects and Mitsubishi Electric's R&D efforts were introduced.

    The opening ceremony featured the Latvian Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Minister of Smart Administration and Regional Development, Minister of Transport, ComReg Chairman, and others. A common comment made by many was the need to strengthen cooperation in Europe. The word "regulation" was also heard very frequently. Technological keywords included "AI," "quantum," "cyber security," and other integration with peripheral technologies.
    The main topics of the panel sessions and other sessions included the relationship between geopolitical balance and information and communication technology, the status of 5G introduction and regional disparities, and issues and expectations for 5G/6G application in the defense and space sectors. In addition to the above keywords, SDN, NTN, etc. were mentioned.
  6. Summary of main presentations:
    XGMF presented at the "International Trials & Pilots" session of the co-creation event "From 5G to 6G: leveraging key trends and 5G evolution to shape 6G for vertical sectors, He gave an overview of XGMF, 6G projects for Vertical Sector, and Mitsubishi Electric's R&D efforts. The importance of the development approach/API was well received.
    The GSMA also indicated that "vertical companies invest more in peripheral (application) technology than in core telecommunications technology, and APIs are therefore important," and Fraunhofer introduced the European 6G-SNS trial and other initiatives. In the European 6G-SNS trial and other initiatives introduced by Fraunhofer, there was a selection process in which partner companies participate and the amount of investment is determined by a stage gate for the themes applied for.
